West Ham vs Middlesbrough Tips
West Ham are against Middlesbrough and this could be one of the sleepers in this round of Premier League games. That is intended as a compliment – both sides have had disappointing starts to the campaign, and will see this game as a chance to lay the foundations for some sort of run, or at least get some valuable points on the board.
West Ham have not been enjoying their fabulous new stadium yet, having won only one of their three home league games. That was the first game – an underwhelming 1-0 win over Bournemouth – and defeats to Watford and Southampton followed. That is a wrong they will want to right, but Boro will see it as a chance to get a potentially rare three points on the board. This preview brings you some betting tips and predictions for consideration.
West Ham vs Middlesbrough Betting Tips: Winner
This is a tough one for reasons already discussed, and we could actually see these two playing out a draw. West Ham will not lose every home game moving forward, but Boro will be up for the occasion considering the timing of the fixture. It could well be a high scoring draw as well, as West Ham have been shipping the goals at home so far. We could see this game ending 2-2 or even 3-3, but for the purposes of your betting slip perhaps stick with a draw as the final outcome. That can be backed at 12/5. A 2-2 draw is priced at 14/1.
West Ham vs Middlesbrough Football Tips: Highest Scoring Half
West Ham’s home games have tended to see something of a capitulation, particularly in the second half. Middlesbrough’s fitness has been called into question at times this season, so they may struggle to continue at full pace beyond an hour or so of play. We could see this perhaps being 1-0 to Boro at half time, with three or even five goals in the second half. Get on the 2nd half being the highest scoring half, which is Evens.
West Ham vs Middlesbrough Players Predictions
The players to watch in this match will almost certainly be the forwards, as attacks on goal could be frequent in this game. In this preview we have already stated out belief that there will be goals to enjoy, but of course players have to have their eye in on goal if they are to find the net. Keep an eye on the likes of Michail Antonio and his heading prowess – he has five goals already this season, and is the only Hammer to score more than once so far!
For the visitors, Christian Stuani is the top scorer with two so far, both of those coming in the trip to Sunderland earlier in the season. While they may not have any dominant goalscorers yet, expect someone to find their form at the right time.
