Stoke vs Burnley Betting Tips

Burnley would be hoping to shrug off their dismal away form and pick up a crucial win when they visit the Bet365 stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Clarinets have won four of their eight home fixtures whilst they managed to collect only one point from their six away fixtures! After a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the Hawthorns ,Burnley caved in to Manchester City at home and lost the game 2-1 albeit putting up an impressive display. On the back of two successive defeats, Sean Dyche’s men would pursue the complete points against Stoke and return to winning ways.
Stoke’s on again off again form continued when they edged past Watford at Vicarage Road by the narrowest margin. Charlie Adam’s headed endeavor took a deflection off the Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes before crawling into the net. Gomes’s own goal drew the line between the two sides and Stoke didn’t have to do much to see off a sluggish Watford side. The win came as a stroke of relief for the Potters after a frustrating home defeat to Bournemouth. Mark Hughe’s side, which went on a six match unbeaten run prior to the Bournemouth match, would be summoning inspiration from their win against Watford and hope to seal consecutive wins.
Paul Robinson could pick up the gloves once again for Burnley as Tom Heaton remains a doubt for a calf injury. Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Dean Marney both have suffered hamstring injuries and should they become unavailable Scott Arfield is expected to be called on midfield duty. Jeff Hendrick could be asked to go a bit deeper and make way for either Ashley Burns or Andre Gray to join Sam Vokes in the forward line.
Joe Allen is clear to play for Stoke after missing out a match for suspension. But Glenn Whelan and Ryan Shawcross are still not guaranteed starters as they both have injury issues. Marc Muniesa, who put on a decent display against Watford, could reprise his role at the back.
Stoke have been thumped 4-1 by Manchester City and 4-0 by Tottenham at home and have managed to win only two of their six home games. Both of those wins came against relegation strugglers Swansea and Sunderland and they lost their very last home game to 12th placed Bournemouth. That said, Sean Dyche could contemplate his side’s weekend trip to Stoke to be the perfect opportunity for ending their away woes. But Burnley would be missing their regular shotstopper Tom Heaton, who played an intrinsic part in achieving the only away point Burnley have got so far(at Old Trafford). Stoke have the likes of Bojan KrKic, Xherdan Shaqiri and Marco Arnautovic as their midfield options and the return of Joe Allen, who has been in fabulous form since his move from Liverpool, will boost their chances. This is a very close game to call but this should be a hard fought 1-0 for the Potters.
