Ambitions

Swansea v Hull looks set to be a fantastic fixture, despite the fact Swansea had a solid but slightly disappointing season, finishing 12th. They ended a full 10 points clear of relegation, so were never in any real danger, but hopes had been high that they may have done better. This make betting tips and predictions quit interesting.

Garry Monk was replaced by Francesco Guidolin in the summer. Optimism would come when they broke their transfer record by signing Borja Bastón for £15.5m. They will be doing everything in their power to improve on last season, and will see this game as a winnable one for sure.

Swansea betting tipsHull also changed their manager during the summer. Steve Bruce left the club after coming up short for the England job. Mike Phelan has been keeping the seat in the dugout warm until a permanent replacement can be found. The Tigers were promoted from the Championship via the playoffs, and are difficult to read. While some strongly fancy them for relegation they kicked things off with a bang last weekend.

Last Week

The hosts travelled to another newly promoted side, Burnley, last weekend and took the points back to Wales with them after winning 1-0. That win was thanks to a Leroy Fer goal with only minutes remaining, but the fact the game was so tight was as much down to Burnley’s resolve as anything else.

Hull began proceedings at the KCOM Stadium with protests against owner Assem Allam. However, they watched their players overturn last season’s surprise champions Leicester City. The 2-1 win was all the more impressive owing to the fact that, having gone in front on the stroke of half-time, the Foxes pinned them back right at the start of the second half. They kept plugging away and took the win thanks to Robert Snodgrass. With half an hour still to play they did well to hold their nerves and retain their lead.

Bet Tip Of The Match

While Hull certainly performed better in front of goal last week, that was in front of their own fans. On the road things could get tough, but they would love to add to their points tally, so expect them to be going for it. The tempting scenario here is for both teams to be level at half time, with Swansea to win. Bet365 have that outcome at 7/2.
