LA Galaxy vs Seattle Sounders Betting Tips, Predictions, and Match Preview

Preview

In previous seasons, clashes between LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders had a huge bearing on how the Western Conference of the MLS would finish up. This campaign, however, the Sounders have not been their usual selves, so instead of being a top of the table clash, this is a match between 2nd and 7th. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of betting opportunities to be had, so we take a look at some of the best tips for this fixture.

LA Galaxy v Seattle Sounders Tips

Prediction: La Galaxy will win, but Seattle Sounder will score at least once

It is hard to envisage anything other than a win for LA Galaxy, who have won the last four times they welcomed Seattle to California. They have also not tasted defeat in their past six matches, so are the clear favourites in this weekend’s betting markets.

There isn’t too much value to be had, though, from a simple bet on a home win, so an interesting alternative bet would be to back the 2/1 odds for LA Galaxy to win, with both teams to score.

While a home win is certainly possible – and even likely, given that Seattle have lost half of their past eight away fixtures – Seattle are still capable enough of troubling the scoreboard. Seattle are averaging 1.21 goals per game and have scored at least once in each of their past eight matches. LA, meanwhile, have conceded seven goals over the course of their past three matches, so they certainly have a leaky defence that can be exploited.

As such, it would be no major shock to see the home side win with a scoreline like the 4-2 or 3-1 with which they won this fixture on the last two occasions.

Here’s a good value football tip: Predict an opening ten minutes goal

Given that there have been three goals scored in the opening ten minutes of the last four meetings between these teams, a good value bet for this game could be to back the first goal to be scored between 0-10 minutes.

The odds for a first 10 minutes goal are 11/4 and are well worth considering given the fourth minute, fifth minute and sixth minute goals scored by Michael Farfan, Clint Dempsey and Sebastian Lletget in recent clashes.

With LA Galaxy’s Alan Gordon netting in the seventh minute of last week’s 2-2 draw with Sporting Kansas City, it certainly seems that the Galaxy are capable of hitting the Sounders with an early blow.
