We have a London derby coming up as Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal take on Antonio Conte’s Chelsea at the Emirates on Saturday in the late kickoff. The Gunners have been flying, not losing since their opening day defeat to Liverpool and have won the last three on the trot. Chelsea have looked rejuvenated under former Juventus coach Conte, but a 2-1 loss ironically also against Liverpool ended their unbeaten start to the season. Both sides harbour title ambitions and will be disappointed if they fail to reach the Champions League, so this game will be seen as a chance to get one over on fierce rivals. Our tip, though, is for a draw in this one.
Arsenal vs Chelsea Tips
Predictions from Last Week
Arsenal recorded a comfortable 4-1 win against Hull thanks to a brace from Alexis Sanchez and singles from Theo Walcott and Granit Xhaka. Xhaka’s strike was a fine goal indeed, and betting on him to at least grab an assist in this game could make far worse bets!
Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool sent them down to fifth, but that is largely due to how impressive those above them have been. It was their first loss of the season, and the game was effectively decided by a wonder strike from Jordan Henderson. Diego Costa’s goal just after the hour was too little too late, and Chelsea were unable to draw level.
Arsenal may be slight favourites with the bookmakers at 11/8 compared to 15/8 on Chelsea, but make sure to bet using better odds like 8/1 on Arsenal to win and 9/1 on Chelsea to win.
Going along the goals conceded column in the league table, it could be tempting to think there won’t be too many goals on display. Indeed, there have only been four in total from the last four games between them. We would quite like to have a bet on there being a couple more than usual in this one though, as both sides have got their eye in for scoring. For over 3.5 goals in the game the odds are 7/4, and that looks quite tempting indeed!
Betting Tips for Arsenal vs Chelsea
Chelsea have beaten Arsenal the last two times the sides have met, in September last year and then back in January. Arsenal will be keen to lay that ghost to rest and get some revenge for that, as they haven’t beaten the Blues in the Premier League since October 2011 – a 5-3 win at Stamford Bridge. The last time they played each other, Chelsea won 1-0 in North London with a Diego Costa strike proving decisive. Costa finding the net here would be another good tip for this match. He already has five goals so far, so our prediction is that he will add to his tally in this game.
